Thunderilla-The Chi Gong Gorilla
Mighty Gorilla Holds Up the World: Raise your arms and turn your hands outward so that the backs of your hands are level with your cheeks. Allow your fingers to soften, curving gently and slightly apart. Your fingers are roughly at eye level-never higher than your head. Imagine that your wrists are supported by a strap that runs around the back of your neck. Your open hands hold the world. Relax all your muscles. Let eyelids come together and breathe naturally. Inhale through the nose and down into the upper and lower abdomen, exhale lightly through the mouth all the way up to the top of the head-rooting to earth with the inhalations and opening to heaven with exhalations. Stand tranquil without any thoughts.
The Gorilla Grunt: Stand feet shoulder width apart or a little more. With a little bend in the knees, swing your arms back and forth 5 or 6 times, palms toward the ground. Let your heels come off the ground as you swing your arms. On the 5th or 6th swing, inhale fully while lifting hands and arms straight up over the head. Bring the hands down forcefully with a loud "HUH" from deep within. There is no need to bend at the waist. This is an arm movement! Repeat several more times.
Building A Strong Healthy Body: Stand with head straight up, knees slightly bent, the heart clear, feet shoulder width apart. Relax body, concave the chest, round (convex) the back, tongue on roof of mouth, relax shoulders. Breathe naturally and pat your body using your whole hand or finger pads. Pat only as hard as the various parts of your body will tolerate. Be gentle at first, building up to harder and harder pats as your body is ready. Always pat gently on the ears. Women and girls should not pat directly on the breasts.
Begin with Patting of the Chest and Buttocks.
Left hand pats the left buttock, the right hand pats the left chest, the left hand pats the right chest, the right hand pats the left chest. This sequence is repeated 3 times total and then the left hand pats the left buttock to end and it starts over again. Rhythm is "1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, 1. Repeat several times and then switch.
Right hand pats the right buttock, the left hand pats the right chest, the right hand pats the left chest, the left hand pats the right chest. This sequence is repeated 3 times total and then the right hand pats the right buttock to end and it starts over again. Rhythm is "1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, 1. Repeat several times.
Patting the Chest Cavity
The rhythm for this and all following sequences is "1-2-3, 1-2-3, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3".
Start by patting the chest with both hands using the full sequence above.
The other patting sequence we will use is a modification of the above using only two sequences from the above for each area patted. For instance, starting under one arm pit, pat 1-2-3, 1-2-3. Then move down one hand width and pat1-2-3-4, 1-2-3-4. Then move down one hand width and pat 1-2-3, 1-2-3. Then move down another hand width and pat 1-2-3, 1-2-3-4. Then move down another hand width and pat 1-2-3-4, 1-2-3. Continue on in this fashion, moving down one side of the body. On the back of the shoulder, return to using the full sequence. Then proceed down the other side of the body using the modified sequence.
After patting the back of the other shoulder, alternate hands patting the chest using the full sequence.
Then pat the abdomen, just under the rib cage using the full sequence.
Then move one hand width down on the abdomen and again pat using the full sequence.
Then pat the sides of the body using the full sequence.
Then reach around and pat the lower back, kidney area using the full sequence.
Then pat the top of the buttocks using the full sequence and come back around and pat the lower abdomen using the full sequence.
Then using the full sequence, pat the forehead, top of the head, sides of the head above the ears, back of the head, eyes, cheeks, ears (very lightly), jaw, mouth (part your lips and see if you can make a popping sound with cupped hands-alternate your hands and have fun!).
Continue using the full sequence and simultaneously pat the top of your head with one hand and the back of your head with the other. Then pat the top of your head with one hand and your forehead with the other. Then pat the top of your head with both hands. Then the sides of your head above the ears. Then the base of your skull with both hands.
Using the modified patting sequence, start at your buttocks and pat down the backs of your legs to your heels. Then come up the front of your legs starting at the tops of your feet to the lower abdomen. Then go down the outside of your legs starting at your hips to your ankles and come up the inside of your legs all the way up to your chest.
Using the modified patting sequence, start at your finger tips and pat up the outside of one arm all the way up to the top of the shoulder and then pat down the inside all the way to the palm. Do the same on the other arm and then have fun clapping and clapping.
End with the alternate patting of chest and buttocks like at the beginning and finish this off with patting the hips using the full sequence.
